These are the gadgets I'd be happy to unwrap myself. I stuck to well-known brands with lots of strong reviews, and picked things people use every day, not novelty gadgets that end up in a drawer by February. Prices move a lot between now and Christmas, so tap through to see today's price.

    Sony WH-1000XM5 Wireless Noise-Canceling Headphones

If someone on your list commutes, flies or works in a noisy house, these are the headphones I'd hand them. The noise canceling is excellent and they're light enough to wear all day.

    Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 16GB (2024)

I think a Kindle is one of the most-used gifts you can give a reader. The glare-free screen works in bright sun or in bed, and the battery goes for weeks.

FAQ

When is the best time to buy tech gifts?

Black Friday (November 27, 2026) and Cyber Monday usually bring the deepest discounts on headphones, Kindles and streaming sticks. Prices can also dip earlier in November, so it's worth checking now and again closer to the date.

Do these gifts need a particular phone?

Most work with any phone. The AirTag needs an iPhone or iPad to set up, and the Fire TV Stick, Echo Dot and Ring doorbell work best with an Amazon account.

Why don't you show prices?

Amazon prices change often, sometimes several times a day, so I'd rather send you to the live price than show one that might be out of date.
